THE POINT

Interactive exercises in meaninglessness

The Counter

Count to 100. Each number brings you closer to... what exactly?

0
You counted to 100. The numbers are gone. What did you accomplish? What changed in the universe? The counter resets, as all things do.

The Clicker

Click the dots. All of them. Make them all the same color. Create order from chaos.

Perfect uniformity achieved. Every dot identical. You have created order, but in doing so, eliminated all distinction, all meaning, all purpose. In perfect order, there is nothing left to strive for.

The Builder

Build your progress bar. Watch it grow. Feel the satisfaction of completion.

0%
100% complete. But complete what? A bar on a screen. Pixels arranged in a rectangle. You built nothing that exists, accomplished nothing that matters. The bar is full, and you are empty.

The Boulder

Push the boulder up the mountain. Watch it roll back down. Push it again.

You understand now. This is the human condition. Endless repetition without purpose. The boulder will always roll back down. You will always push it back up. The cycle is eternal, and eternally meaningless.

The Realization

You have completed all the exercises. What have you learned?

Every goal you reach disappears.

Every achievement becomes a memory.

Every moment passes into nothing.

Every click, every count, every progress bar...

All return to zero.

And yet, you clicked anyway.

You counted anyway.

You pushed the boulder anyway.

Perhaps that's the only point there is.
